The
Pride 12U Green
Team traveled to Dubuque, Iowa July 9th and 10th to participate in
the BOSOX Tournament. Twenty Four 12U teams, mostly from Iowa,
participated in the tourney.
On Saturday, the Pride went 2-1,
opening with a win over the DeWitt Sabers 8-1, losing to Pearl City
4-0, then beating Lyons Black in extra innings 5-4.
Ending up the 11th seed of 24 teams
after Saturday's pool play, the Pride won their opening game of the
Silver Bracket on Sunday, 6-4 over the #9 seed DeWitt Sluggers. The
Pride then rolled in the Championship game beating the Clinton
Royals 13-1 in 4 innings.
The Pride represented Illinois well
displaying strong pitching, clutch defense, agressive baserunning and
timely hitting throughout the weekend.
